Commitment
As we near the end of January, this is often the time when many people begin to drift away from their New Year's resolutions. The initial excitement fades, distractions creep in, and the commitments we made to ourselves start to waver. This is the perfect moment to talk about commitment—specifically, committing to the things that are most true to our hearts.
At Burns Bright Consulting, we believe in the power of commitment, and that belief is rooted in the 12 principles outlined in my book, The Power of Love. The first principle, Truth, is where it all begins. Understanding our truth gives us clarity about what we truly want, which leads us to the next principle—Desire—where we define what is most important to us. Once we have a firm grasp on our desires, the next step is to communicate them effectively and put them into action.
With Courageous Communication, we begin to express our goals, gaining awareness through Humility and Equality, which help us see the path ahead clearly and understand the actions needed to move forward. But it is Commitment that truly drives us to success.
If there's one word that encapsulates what it takes to achieve our goals, it's commitment. Some may call it passion, others persistence or tenacity, but at its core, commitment is about dedicating yourself fully to what you want and staying the course despite the distractions and obstacles.
As of today, January 27th,

it's time to take a hard look at our commitments. Are we ready to dig in, reconnect with our "why," and push forward with renewed energy? Commitment isn't just about setting goals; it's about internalizing them, making them part of your core identity, and taking consistent action.
Of course, commitment also requires humility—an honest understanding of what is achievable and the willingness to seek feedback and make adjustments along the way. It's about recognizing opportunities, surrounding yourself with supportive people, and working collaboratively to achieve your vision.
The truth is, many people begin to falter at this stage. Life gets busy—weekend activities, kids' sports, social events, and even the excitement of the Super Bowl can become distractions. And while these moments are important and should be enjoyed, they shouldn’t cause us to lose sight of our deeper commitments.
Today, I encourage you to take a moment to reflect. Connect to that inner fire, rekindle your passion, and ensure your light burns bright. Don’t let external distractions dim your potential. Own your fire, let it shine, and allow it to warm and inspire those around you.
Let's take action today. Make a renewed commitment to your goals, embrace the journey ahead, and remember—you are not alone. Stay focused, stay driven, and let your passion lead the way.
